Issues That Require New Leadership
Kimberly Overman is running as a Democrat to represent Hillsborough County Commission, District 7 Countywide because of her strong belief that economic opportunity for all is essential to realizing innovative, thriving and successful communities.
A 34-year resident of the Tampa Bay area, Kimberly has raised two children and launched and run several successful businesses. She is a Certified Financial Planner and CEO of The Financial Well, Inc., a fee-only registered investment advisory firm, and owner of The Heights Exchange, LLC, a co-working space for small business owners in Central Tampa. She also re-created a business chamber of commerce for the Tampa urban core - now one of the hottest commercial and residential real estate markets in the area.
A long-time advocate of smart planning and economic growth, strong families and sustainable communities, and the importance of education, Kimberly has a long history of volunteerism and community involvement.
As a successful business leader and owner of a financial planning firm, Kimberly’s expertise has been sought out and applied across numerous volunteer leadership roles serving local government. Currently, a member of the Citizens Advisory Committee to the Metropolitan Planning Commission, she has also served on the City of Tampa’s Citizen Advisory Committee for Budget and Finance, and as chairman of the Hillsborough Housing Finance Authority, where she oversaw the County's housing bond portfolio. This experience and her dedication helped support a financing program for first time home buyers to make the dream of home ownership possible for more citizens of Hillsborough County.
By applying her professional expertise to help support fiscal responsibility in government, Kimberly found a love of and dedication to community service. She understands the critical connection between fair policy that supports and incentivizes growth that is manageable, while generating equitable access to opportunity for all our neighbors. She believes we must invest in transportation infrastructure, smart planning, job growth, and education to support strong families and healthy communities.

Issues That Require New Leadership
BY FOCUSING ON TRANSPORTATION FIRST, OUR CITIZENS CAN BENEFIT BY HAVING TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES THAT PERMIT ACCESS TO GOOD JOBS THAT SUPPORT THEIR FAMILIES AND FINANCIAL FOUNDATION.
A SOLID FINANCIAL FOUNDATION ALLOWS OUR INVESTMENT IN EDUCATION TO FLOURISH AS OUR CHILDREN ARE WELL CARED FOR IN HEALTHY COMMUNITIES AND SCHOOLS, AND A WELL-EDUCATED WORKFORCE IN A COMMUNITY.
A FUNCTIONING TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM SUPPORTS THE EXISTING AND NEW BUSINESSES WE NEED TO ATTRACT IN HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY.
LEADERSHIP CREATES TRUST IN A COMMUNITY. THE LACK OF LEADERSHIP IN THE AREA OF TRANSPORTATION HAS LED TO PROTESTS AGAINST TBX, A FAILED GO HILLSBOROUGH PLAN, AND A LACK OF A VOTER REFERENDUM TO ADDRESS OUR TRANSPORTATION DEFICIT. THE LEADERSHIP NEEDED TO IMPLEMENT SMART POLICY HAS AN IMPORTANT RIPPLE EFFECT THAT MATTERS TO THE CITIZENS OF HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY.
